B. Douglas Smith, MD is Associate Professor of Oncology in the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He is also on the active staff at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

After receiving his bachelor's in biology from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, Dr. Smith earned his medical doctorate from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed his internship and residency at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, and a fellowship in oncology at Johns Hopkins University. He has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and authored many abstracts, book chapters, and editorials.

Since 2004, Dr. Smith has been involved in the Johns Hopkins Internal Medicine Boards Review Course - Leukemia and Myelodysplastic Disorders. He serves as a Guest Reviewer for several journals, including the American Journal of Hematology, Cancer, Blood, and Lancet Oncology. He is also a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
